For children, play, love and academics are almost indistinguishable, with play being the most central. To take away play in learning, especially for children, is to set them to fail. Using ACE EdVenture’s 26-year track-record of prioritising fun in learning without sacrificing academic rigour and working with Finland’s specialist in early childhood education, Dr. Kati Rintakorpi, we’ve reverse-engineered great education down to the Kindergarten level based on these 3 principles:
Natural Way
of Learning
Because of children’s innate curiosity, learning comes naturally to them when they are thoroughly engaged in the process of discovery and encouraged to dive deeper into topics that interest them.
Rather than regulating their natural process of learning to the “shoulds” and “musts”, we provide them the freedom to explore and tap into their ability to learn in great magnitudes.
And when the kids’ positive emotions are engaged during their learning process, that reinforces their desire to learn. What better way to achieve that than by allowing children to direct their own learning through the natural process of discovery and fascination?
Transformational Education
To us, education is never limited to the scope of academics. When we educate, we nurture our kids for a future that is certainly uncertain and will definitely change.
To do this, we incorporate human with strong emphasis on social-emotional, mental health and wellbeing via the Finnish part of the curriculum.
Furthermore, the inclusion of entrepreneurial education in our curriculum also gives our kids a head start in developing traits of global successful individuals.
Multidimensional Learning
In Lil Unicorn, we emphasize relevance when it comes to learning. We believe that children should not only understand why they’re learning something but also see how they are interrelated to other aspects.
That way, it not only sets a foundation for kids to see the world in a more mature perspective but also nurtures critical thinking and problem solving skills.
